When moving this site, I used WordPress DBmanager plugin to back up my database. I had trouble finding the path to mySQL and the mysqldump.
The path to the “files” are as follows.
To mysqldump: /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysqldump
To mysql: /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysql
Hope it will help someone 🙂
THANK YOU! It SURE helped me!!
Perfect – needed to find the path, my google search landed on this page, the details above solved my problem straight away … many thanks!!!
Well done, mate. This was a tremendous help. There are people piling on the gratitude here and it’s no wonder: sometimes little nuggets like having the proper urls for a plugin when using MAMP (or in my case MAMP PRO) are a real help. Cheers!
Thank you!
Thank you so much, it worked like a charm instantly 🙂
I have been surfing online greater than 3 hours as of late, yet I never discovered any fascinating article like yours.
It is lovely price enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made just
right content material as you did, the net will likely
be a lot more useful than ever before.
Thank you! 🙂 There is a site called Stackexchange.com that has a lot of solutions to common problems. You can also ask questions there (if I haven’t written about it 😉
Perfect, thank you very much! 🙂

Now to see if I can open this 5,000,000 table dump in TextWrangler…
Thank you! That worked for me!
Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful site by the way, I like your work.
Didn’t realize DBManager was emailing me empty backup files all this time. Good thing I tried making a copy of my site before I actually needed the backup.
Thanks for spelling out the proper paths for me 😉
Thank-you, worked like a charm the first time
